A short, heavy-based tumbler holding 280 ml — water, wine, whisky, orange juice at eight in the morning. The base is a thick collected foot that gives the glass its weight and keeps it from going over on an uneven table.
The amber is struck through the glass, so the colour deepens where the wall is thickest and lightens near the rim. In direct sun a tumbler throws a caramel pool of light onto the table, which is most of the reason to own one.
Sold individually rather than in a box of six, on purpose. A table of hand-blown glasses that do not perfectly match is the intended look, and it means one breakage is a twenty-eight dollar problem rather than a replace-the-set problem.

- Clear amber, deeper at the base where the glass collects, paler at the rim. Small trapped bubbles throughout and a pontil scar on the underside. Height varies by up to 6 mm and wall thickness is uneven by design — glasses bought together will not be identical to each other.

- Free-blown by mouth in northern Portugal.
Care
- Hand-wash in warm water. Detergent and dishwasher heat dull the surface of hand-blown glass over time.
- Dry with a linen cloth rather than leaving to air-dry, which spots.
- Store upright, not rim-down — the rim is the thinnest part.
Cautions
- Not dishwasher-safe.
- Not for hot drinks. Soda-lime glass is not borosilicate and cracks under thermal shock — no tea, no coffee, no mulled wine.
- Not for the freezer, oven or microwave. Do not chill a glass in the freezer before pouring.
