A low, weighted holder for a standard 22 mm taper, thrown in the same body as the Vega line. The well is 23 mm so a taper drops in without forcing, and deep enough at 30 mm that a candle stands square rather than leaning as it burns down.
The base is broad and heavy on purpose. A tall candle in a light holder is a fire waiting for an elbow.
Wax that runs onto the glaze lifts off cleanly once it is cold — the satin surface is fired hard enough that nothing soaks in.

- Buff iron-speckled stoneware body, satin bone-white glaze, food-safe and lead-free. Fired to 1240°C (cone 6) in an electric kiln.

- Satin matte glaze, pooling darker in the ring around the well. Speckle varies between pieces. Well diameter varies by ±1 mm — a very tight taper may need a moment's warming to seat.
- Made
- Thrown, glazed and fired in northern Portugal.
Care
- Let wax set completely, then lift it off with a thumbnail or a blunt wooden tool.
- Dishwasher-safe once the wax is off. Do not put a waxed holder through a dishwasher — the wax redeposits on everything else in the machine.
- Wipe with a damp cloth otherwise.
Cautions
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and never let a taper burn below 3 cm — at that point the flame is at the glaze and the thermal load is on one small area.
- Not for tea lights or pillars. The well is cut for a taper and nothing else sits safely in it.
- Not for the freezer, broiler or direct flame.
